BJP DECALRED 70 CANDIDATES LIST FOR GUJARAT VIDHANSABHA ELECTION

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday declared the first list of candidates for the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections, to be held in two phases on December 7 and 14.
Incumbent Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will fight the polls from the Rajkot (West) seat, while deputy CM Nitin Patel will contest from Mehsana.
The first list has 70 candidates and includes 45 legislators for first phase of seats and 25 for second phase.
The party has repeated most of the sitting legislators. Congress legislators like RaghavjiPatel, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, C.K. Raolji, Mansinh Chauhan and Ramsinh Parmar — all of whom joined the party during the Rajya Sabha polls — have also been fielded.
The decision to declare names of the candidates of the first phase of the BJP’s first phase will also be decided by the high court. Probably the list may be announced on November 17 or 18. By comparing it to the list of Congress candidates, if declared tomorrow, BJP can make major changes at the last minute in the name of the High Command himself. Discussions are going on tomorrow to reveal names.
